Project Overview
This project was developed with INCIDE, the Faculty of Education Sciences at the University of Málaga, the HUM 365 Group "Training, Guidance, Employability, Entrepreneurship, Inclusion, and Innovation" (FOREMPIN), Los Asperones Social Services, and artist Julia Gutman. The participants—students from the Faculty of Education and seniors from the Los Asperones neighborhood—made individual paper mosaics that were then joined into a collective composition. The project aimed to bring together people of different ages, social backgrounds, and neighborhoods. Each mosaic is a personal contribution; when combined with the others, it symbolizes connection despite differences, the removal of barriers, and the creation of a shared collective memory. In this way, art serves as a tool for social transformation, building bonds between individuals and communities, strengthening social cohesion, and fostering a collective memory rooted in participation, diversity, and mutual recognition.
