Middle School Mural- ‘21-22
These murals, located along the 7th-grade hallway at Julia de Burgos, honor the former principal of the school who passed away last year. Ms. Hernandez was the principal for many years and had a profound impact on both students and staff. The School administration wanted the mural to include symbols that represented Principal Hernandez, such as mermaids, which she loved, books, elements of Puerto Rican culture, and school pride. Students voted on the quote included in the mural. I designed the mural, and 7th and 8th-grade students spent several months working collaboratively to paint it.
