Music Mural- ‘22-23
Students were asked by the music teacher to create a large-scale mural that represented the diversity, power, and freedom of music. Students from 2nd to 8th grade sketched, designed, planned, and painted this large mural outside the music room.
Step 1: Students brainstormed and sketched symbols they associated with the performing arts and music.
Step 2: All student sketches were combined to create one cohesive collaborative design. Students provided feedback to create this final digital rendering of the mural.
Step 3: This mural was painted on parachute paper. Parachute paper is a canvas-like material that is used as an alternative to painting murals directly on the wall. Here are students painting the individual sheets of parachute paper.
Step 4: Once students finished painting the sheets, they used a special glue to paste them directly to the wall. Once glued to the wall, the sheets become a permanent mural.
